sandra oh is amazing in that scene!
They are both amazing.
i hope the last scene in episode 21 between owen and cristina wont go to waste just because of their difference in opinion regarding having a baby. They love each other so much that i know that cristina would realize tha she could be a good mother in the future! Pls dont separate them!
I hope that Cristina will come to terms to why she is so scared about having a baby. She needs to break down those cover up ways and tell him the truth. At this point I don't see Cristina getting an abortion this time. But, I think it is more of being scared and not knowing where to turn.
Anonymous, why do you think Cristina is scared? Scared of what?
This is from the anonymous that talks about her being scared. I believe that she is scared beause she is afraid that the same thing that happened to her in season 2, will happen again. That is why she needs to let him know what is the real reason why she is scared to have a baby with him. To me, with every reason there is always a reason for the decisions that we make.
caseyscooby1985, I had not thought of that, but, although that experience was certainly traumatic, I honestly can't see that as the reason. The way I see it, Cristina not wanting to have children may have more to do with the unwillingness of having to give up a pretty much self-centered life. Her job is the most important thing in it, and she doesn't have to compete for Owen's attention. Even the fact that Meredith wants a child so much, can't get pregnant at the moment, and didn't even want her to be Callie's daughter's godmother, may put an extra strain on the situation for her. Actually, I expect a final scene next week with Meredith and Cristina in bed together consoling each other!
Emma, I do understand your comment as well. But, in my opinion, I really don't see her getting an abortion. I think that if she and meredith console each other, Meredith will convince her to keep the baby. And Cristina will encourage Meredith to find a way to make things right with her job and Derek.
Meredith and Cristina consoling each other is the last scenario I would want. Both are in a committed relationship and both they should fight for keep being in that relationship. Consoling each other in bed is not what I expect to see on a season of growth and rebirth.. That is IMO childish... I hope they won't go that path again.
And I don't think SR's intentions are to tell a story about abortion. The damage on Cristina and Owen's relationship would be irremediable.
caseyscooby1985, Well, if she decided to have an abortion that would mean the end of her marriage for sure, and, although I was not really looking forward to another baby on the show, I don´t think I could watch Cristina turning into the kind of doctor we saw wonderfully interpreted by Faye Dunaway in season 5, who had had a very succesful career but was all alone at the end of it. Derek leaving Meredith on account of a problem at work, even if it is as serious as tampering with his medical trial, would also be a huge disappointment. I am also so sorry about what seems to be the end of the friendship between Meredith and Alex, although, considering how life has treated Alex so far, I somehow can see why he did that. I am actually very worried about him. I fear he may do something utterly irresponsible after betraying the one real friend he had. These situations are too complicated to find an acceptable solution in just 45 minutes, so the only hope we have is indeed your scenario of Meredith and Cristina supporting each other, and I do hope the season will somehow end on a positive note.
Well, Owen did say that he didn't want to see her miserable. So he should stand by her side as he promised.
Emma: I agree with you. I don't think that fans will look at Cristina the same way again. I believe that reason that alot of fans are loving her now is due to the fact that we are seeing more of an human side than a robot. Plus, I believe that Owen will protect that baby as well as his wife he loves. I believe that Meredith will encourage her to keep the baby, since she didn't have the chance to give birth. In fact, Meredith will yell at her in close the same way that she did when Cristina was about to marry Burke. The show that I am thinking of is that season finale of season 3 at the wedding scene.
Just speaking of youself please, I will still look at Cristina as the way I used to see her. Because I understand her.
Funny that, Owen can be forgiven for what he did, choking, cheating etc, but Cristina can't.
I don't see why people would look at Cristina the differently, she has never wanted a baby. She was going to abort the first one before she lost it. Cristina has been my favorite character from the beginning. I don't see how she is "more human" with Owen.
Cristina forgave Owen for "choking" her because like she told Meredith, PSTD is a war wound, NOT physical abuse. And just for the record Owen has never cheated on Cristina!
I'm looking forward to this storyline because it shows the "interns" we all love maturing like they should. IMHO, the biggest problem C/O are facing is communicating properly. Cristina needs to tell Owen about her etopic pregnancy (I think that is what is stirring her nerves so). Of course that will be in season 8. IMHO, just because Cristina has a softer side doesn't mean she isn't the same person!! I don't think we will ever see Cristina lose her snark!
For me I wouldn't think of her any differently if she went through with an abortion. I do want to see an actual discussion with her husband about it as opposed to it being a unilateral decision, and therein lies the issue for the episode. The difference between Cristina now and in the first season is that she is married now, and her decisions don't just affect her.
The choking never needed to be forgiven by Cristina. She never saw it as something to be forgiven on the show, she understood that it was not something intentional and people forget that she did indeed break up with him afterwards because of it. As for the 'cheating' thing...he never cheated but again, Cristina walked away from him then too. So Owen has never gotten a pass, and there is a circle of people, viewers, who would never give him a pass anyways.
