Sandra Oh To Release An Autobiography - 'The Story Of Oh'

According to Amazon.com Sandra Oh will release an autobiography entitled The Story of Oh in September this year. Here is the book cover and the synopsis:

Sandra Oh's mother warned her: If you get into acting, you're gonna get tangled up in drugs and prostitution. Her parents were Korean immigrants, settled in Ottawa, very religious, and when Sandra started falling in love with performing arts as a kid they got pretty nervous.

In 'The Story of Oh', Sandra Oh shares her own story on her love for acting, her early career in Canada and trying to make it in Hollywood as a woman and an Asian-American. She takes us through the ups and downs in her acting career, working from small productions to the multi-award winning movie 'Sideways', her life-changing role as Cristina Yang on the hit television show 'Grey's Anatomy' and what comes next.

Sandra Oh In Audio Drama 'Die, Snow White! Die, Damn You!'

Sandra Oh is one of the performers in Die, Snow White! Die, Damn You!: A Very Grimm Tale, an audio drama by famed audio dramatist Yuri Rasovsky, set to be released on May 1, 2012. It is a new spin on the classic Snow White tale and here is the synopsis:

With the premiere of two new film versions of the Snow White tale, Blackstone enters the fray with its own adult, edgy, and not altogether serious full-cast exposé of fairy-taledom. At last it can be told!
Was Snow White really as pure as the driven snow? Did her allegedly wicked stepmother get a bum rap from the Grimm brothers? What went on behind the closed Dutch doors of the dwarves’ cottage? How many handsome princes does it take to screw in a light bulb?
These and other burning questions may or may not be answered in this new pseudogothic audio play that Blackstone commissioned from award-winning author and audio dramatist Yuri Rasovsky.

Sandra Oh has worked with Rasovsky once before on his audiobook dramatisation of Dashiell Hammond's The Maltese Falcon, which has won several awards and received a Grammy nomination for Best Spoken Word Album.

Sandra Oh as femme fatale Brigid O'Shaughnessy in 'The Maltese Falcon'.

Sadly, Yuri Rasovsky passed away on Wednesday and Sandra Oh talked to the Chicago Sun-Times about working with him:

“Being introduced to [performing] radio plays through [Yuri] was like discovering a new fun planet,” Oh said in a text message. “I knew from the second we worked together that I had so much to learn from him. His understanding of the medium, of storytelling and trust in his actors was superlative. He was a great and generous teacher.”

New Phone App For The 'Thorne'-series

Here is some exciting news from The Bookseller on the Thorne-series:

Sandra Oh as Sarah Chen with the rest of the cast of Thorne.

Little, Brown will be launching an app for Mark Billingham's DI Tom Thorne crime novels, in what it is calling an "unprecedented partnership" with Sky and Trade Mobile.

The app will be available free for users of iPhone and Android handsets from 7th October, coinciding with a new six-part TV series, "Thorne", broadcasting on Sky 1 HD.

The publisher said the app would "act as a companion to the Thorne series of novels and the TV series thorne, offering exclusive material including author videos, images, an interactive map of Thorne's London, a playlist, as well as stills, trailers and interviews from the new Sky 1 series".

Readers of Billingham's novels Sleepyhead and Scaredycat (re-issued by Little, Brown as TV tie-in editions on 7th October) will also be able to use the App to go "BeyondTheStory", with Trade Mobile's searchable page technology providing extra detail relating to characters, locations and plots.

And a word from the author himself:

I've also been filming for the all-singing, all-dancing Thorne app, which will be available free to download in early October. This will have films, playlists, photos, character profiles, interviews with the actors and clips from the TV show. All very exciting and modern and 'down with the kids'.

Hope you like it.

Sandra Oh Leaves Grey's Anatomy. Not.

UPDATE: We kid, we kid.

April Fool's, as you all have figured out by now. Actually there have not been any rumours and as far as we know Sandra Oh isn't going anywhere.

It has been rumoured for a while now and it looks like Sandra Oh really is leaving Grey's Anatomy:

Katherine Heigl recently announced her departure from Grey's Anatomy and now it looks like the popular medical drama is losing another one of its stars at the end of the season. According to our sources, Sandra Oh is in negotiations with her former employer HBO to play the lead character in a new drama series. No further details are known at the moment.
ABC and Sandra Oh's representatives have declined to comment.

So dear readers, what do you say about this? Did you see this coming? Are you excited about seeing Sandra Oh as the lead in a new TV show?

Eastern Congo is the most dangerous place in the world to be a woman or girl, and the sexual violence there is often fueled by militias warring over conflict minerals, the ores that produce tin, tungsten, and tantalum—the 3 Ts— that end up being used in our electronic devices.
