Sandra Oh is the Cover Story for NUVO’s Spring 2008 Issue
Grey’s Anatomy star featured wearing traditional Korean dresses

Canadian actor Sandra Oh is the cover story for the Spring 2008 issue of NUVO magazine. The issue, on newsstands February 25, features an exclusive photo shoot with Oh wearing hanbok dress, a type of traditional Korean clothing. In an interview with NUVO, Oh discusses her life and experiences from growing up in Ottawa to signing on to one of television’s hottest shows.

Oh was photographed by Sheryl Nields at an abandoned Los Angeles warehouse. The location was chosen to create a dynamic contrast with the colourful hanbok pieces designed by dressmaker Kim Mehee Shin. The combination of the modest setting and the intricately designed dresses created a series of stunning photos.

“Only someone with a strong personality and individuality could pull this off–someone like Sandra Oh,” says NUVO Art Director Sandra Zarkovic. “Her free-spirited demeanour was apparent in the photos throughout.” NUVO will publish two covers for the upcoming Spring issue.

Along with her role as Dr. Cristina Yang on Grey’s Anatomy (for which she has won a Golden Globe and a Screen Actor’s Guild Award), Oh is recognized for her roles in the hit HBO series Arli$$ and the critically acclaimed film Sideways. Her resumé boasts dozens of television, film and stage appearances.

In its 10th year of publication, NUVO magazine is a Canadian lifestyle publication that features style, celebrity and culture. NUVO is the audited leader in the Canadian media marketplace, and has over 20 publishing and editorial awards to date. NUVO is available on newsstands at Chapters and Indigo locations across Canada, and by subscription. For more information, please visit www.nuvomagazine.com.
