You may have a seen a post or two about it on our site before. As the finale approaches, even more details emerge. Here is another article about the finale, this one from the latest issue of TV Guide magazine:

Those of you with heart conditions may want to watch the Grey's Anatomy finale with a friend or at least with one finger ready to dial 9-1-1. "We really want the audience to be prepared for what they're gong to see, and maybe sent the children out of the room, "creator Shonda Rhimes warns of her shocking, heart-wrenching, two-hour close to Season 6. Insiders who have been treated to a sneak peek are comparing the capper to last year's whammy in which both George and Izzie were left at death's door. "I don't want anyone going into this thinking it's going to a happy light episode, "adds Rhimes. "Something horrible happens.".

At the center of all this drama, as always are Meredith and Cristina. "From the very beginning I've always said that Grey's is really a love story between these two best friends, and the finale really carries us back to that," says Rhimes. "They'll support each other though some pretty tough stuff."

The medical cases they're facing has personal stakes like they've never seen before "In most show, the boy ends up being the hero and saving the girl. We're definitely not doing that. We're getting to see Meredith and Cristina do some incredible things and rise in a pretty heroic way."

i'm pretty sure that Derek's angry patient is going to shoot him, and that Cristina is going to be awesome and save him (well, this last part is more of a wishful thinking, but still) :D
