Vancouver -- Sandra Oh and Gordon Pinsent are among the celebrity speakers who will be in Vancouver in June for the Magnetic North Theatre Festival. Festival details were announced in Vancouver yesterday.

The performance lineup includes blood.claat, a coming-of-age story by Toronto artist d'bi.young.anitafrika; [boxhead] about a young geneticist who wakes up to find a box secured to his head; Loft, a multimedia contemporary circus by Montreal's The 7 Fingers; April 14, 1912, which provides three viewpoints on the sinking of the Titanic; and An Evening with Uncle Val, by Newfoundland comedian Andy Jones.

The festival will also include HIVE2, featuring 11 unique, intimate performances done at repeated intervals over the course of the evening. It's the follow-up to HIVE - a giant hit in Vancouver in 2006.

Oh and Pinsent will take part in a pay-what-you-can Celebrity Speakers series, which will also feature local actress Tantoo Cardinal and playwrights Anosh Irani, Sharon Pollock, Mieko Ouchi.

Magnetic North is an annual contemporary Canadian theatre festival, which alternates between Ottawa and a different Canadian city each year.

This year's festival takes place June 4-14 at nine Vancouver venues. Full festival details can be found at http://www.magneticnorthfestival.ca.
