Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey's Anatomy, wrote an article in the latest TV Guide about the romantic relationships on the show. Here is an excerpt of what she wrote about Sandra's character:
The last time I wrote for you dear TV Guide reader, was last summer. We talked about how Izzie would have a love story unlike anything we've seen at Seattle Grace; how Cristina would meet a hot mysterious military guy and how Mark would play Cupid for Callie and find love of his own. The thing I stressed most is the love. And the love for so many of our doctors is just beginning.
Cristina and Owen's love story is full of pain but also humor and hope. Like me, Cristina has fallen for Owen, hard. But he's a man back from war, who admits he has big problems leaving his old life in the past. And those problems are going ot get bigger for both of them.
